DENTON, Willie Ervin, 96, of Richmond, went to be with his Lord on Monday, July 2, 2012. He was a World War ll Navy veteran and a lifetime deacon at New Highland Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Fanny Kennedy Denton; and son, Billy James Denton. He is survived by his son, John Kennedy Denton and wife, Rita; daughters, June Denton Williams and husband, Johnny, and Diane Denton Clarke and husband, George; 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 4, 2012 at the Mechanicsville Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 8014 Lee-Davis Rd., where funeral services will be held 11 a.m .Thursday July 5. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
