SHEPPARD, Johnny Lee, 68, formerly of Mechanicsville and Brookneal, and currently on the rivah in Hartfield, passed away suddenly on June 27, 2012. Johnny, who never met anyone he wouldn't share his love of playing country music with, was preceded in death by his wife, Joan Rigney Sheppard. He is survived by his daughter, Cindy Sheppard Weinstock and her husband, Harry; son, Johnny Sheppard Jr. and his wife, Christy; and beloved grandchildren, Bryce and Samantha Sheppard and Britlyn and Leah Weinstock; as well as his fiancee and devoted companion, May Lee. Johnny was a member of the Washington Henry Masonic Lodge in Mechanicsville and the ACCA Temple Shriners. A Masonic memorial service, followed by a Christian memorial service, will be held on Sunday, July 1, at 2 p.m. at Bennett's Funeral Home, 8014 Lee-Davis Road in Mechanicsville. Family and friends will gather at The Via Club at Pebble Creek (6069 Green Haven Dr.) immediately after the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Shriner's Hospital, 3551 N.
